Enterprise Coach

Amy spent her early career working in personnel and recruitment and has always enjoyed working with people. In 2002 she moved into the charitable sector, helping unemployed people into work in Somerset, her home turf. Since then much of her career has been spent working with long-term unemployed people in both Somerset and Bristol, delivering employability workshops, coaching and motivating people who need a little extra support. She was also instrumental in setting up a new outreach charity programme in Somerset before moving to Bulgaria where she and her husband own and develop property.

Amy has been a self-employed job coach, a self-employed painter putting on art exhibitions and, more recently, she has indulged in her love of creative writing and writing as Amy C Fitzjohn has just published her first novel, The Bronze Box (available on Amazon) and is working on her next book.

Enterprise Advisor

Andy has considerable experience in the business support field, having operated a business advisory service and prior to that, was employed at Business West, where he was involved in the ‘Access to Finance’ project.
During this period he also acted as a generalist business advisor to developing local businesses.
He is an experienced workshop facilitator and business coach.
Prior to this, Andy was a relationship manager with a major UK lender, and has also worked for the leading UK charity the Citizens Advice Bureau, where he remains involved as a trustee.
Andy is a keen amateur runner and runs locally with Nailsea Running Club.

 – Enterprise Advisor

Emma is a professional scientist by background and also spent over a decade working in leadership development with the British Army. She has lived in Bristol for more than 15 years, has been self-employed for the last eight years and operates both as a sole trader and as a limited company director. Emma has plenty of experience in showing other people how to do the same, having worked as a business advisor in Bristol for the last six years. She is passionate about developing people personally as well as their ideas and holds a Diploma in Education as well as SFEDI-ILM accreditation in business support. Emma is working part-time at Outset Bristol. Emma also works with BRAVE, Bristol University and Cool Ventures. Enterprise Coach

Lydia was born and bred in Bristol. In her early twenties she worked in a number of administration roles whilst dreaming of travelling and taking photographs. She fulfilled this dream with a job travelling the world as a cruise ship photographer, before returning home to set up her own professional photography business which has now run for 8 years.

She joined Outset Bristol to help others build their self-confidence, realise their potential and assist them on their path to running a successful company. Lydia loves the outdoors and has taken part in gruelling expeditions to Mount Everest Base Camp and the Great Wall of China, as well as climbing Ben Nevis on her own in 2013 after skedaddling from a meditation retreat… she also loves pie and mash.

Marketing Manager (on maternity leave)

Nicki cut her teeth in magazine journalism, including four years as the Editor of Somerset Life magazine. In more recent years she has specialised in marketing, working in the ski industry in France and for Outset Bristol, promoting enterprise and self-employment to disadvantaged wards across Bristol. A keen cyclist, Nicki took a year off in 2010, riding 7,000 miles through Spain, Morocco, New Zealand and India. Amazingly, she didn’t get a single puncture during the trip!

Marketing Manager (maternity cover)

Becky comes to Outset Bristol having spent her career working in PR & communications for various public sector organisations and charities. She first heard of Outset in 2013 when she completed our courses and went on to launch her own successful business designing and making jewellery, which she sells online and at local markets. Becky has a background in heritage and archaeology, and likes to think of herself as the female Indiana Jones!
